3. My car has tinted windows and cannot receiver a GPS Signal
The GPS signal can also be affected by athermic heat reflecting windshield or tinted windows. In order to test whether your cars windows is preventing the GPS signal from reaching the device, stand outside of the car with your device, follow the steps above to see if the unit is picking up a GPS signal, get inside the car, close the windows and place the GPS on its window mount in the selected position on the Windscreen. 9. I have loaded Mp3’s, Avi’s and JPEG pictures onto an SD card and inserted it into the GPS but nothing is showing up when I try to browse for them.
This can occur due to 2 reasons:

10. I turn my GPS on, and enter the navigation mode and I am told my maps are out of date.
The JNC Navig8 devices are sold with the latest available software of South Africa.
The Out of date warning is set to go off when there is over a one year difference between the GPS set date and the build date of the software.
The reason you are getting the out of date warning is that you entered the " Navigation" option before the GPS unit had a chance to establish a GPS fix and receive the correct date and time from the GPS satellites orbiting the earth.
The Digi-Nav software checked the date on the GPS device which is default to 2003.01.01 (before it gets the correct date and time from the GPS satellites) and its build date which is 2007 and noticed there was over a one year period and the automatic reminder notifying you that your maps are out of date activated.
In order to avoid this reminder please ensure either the correct date is set before you enter the Navigation option, or the unit has a GPS fix before you enter the " navigation" option to receive the correct date from the GPS satellites.
