The reason you get this error is that a map data set is made up of co-ordinates. When turned on the GPS device picks up its co-ordinates in South Africa and can not find the corresponding co-ordinates on the International map loaded on your GPS device. The unit will then display the error “Application mobilenavigator.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down…….” You will then need to restart your unit with the correct country map set loaded.

I.E. If I am currently in South Africa and have purchased the DACH International map set and loaded the DACH map set into my SD card slot I will be able to go into the Digi-Nav software and use the “route planner” to plan a route in one of the Dach countries or from one Dach country to another Dach country, but I will not be able to enter an address in one of the Dach countries and calculate a route from South Africa to the Dach address using the Navigation option.

In order to avoid this error occurring please ensure you have the correct map data for the country that you are currently in active on your GPS unit

JNC strive to ensure that all our GPS devices are running the latest available map data when sold to the consumer. This is not possible in all cases as data releases occur twice a year and retailers may have stock on hand running the old map data.

Any customer that purchases a JNC GPS device running the old map version 30 days before the release of a new map version or purchases a JNC GPS running the old map version after a new map  version has been released will qualify for a free upgrade.

In order to claim your free upgrade you will need to follow the procedure below:

1. Register for the JNC Newsletter on www.clubnavig8.co.za
2. Fax or Email your proof of purchase to 086 645 7108 or freeupgrade@jnc.co.za please ensure this includes your name, postal address and contact telephone numbers
3. When the upgrade is released you will be sent your new upgrade in the post
4. Please note without a valid proof of purchase showing both the date and model number of the GPS no upgrade will be supplied

The JNC Navig8 range is compatible with standard SD cards, please note mini SD cards and adaptors are not compatible withe JNC Navig8 range

JNC GPS-351 will support a maximum of a 1GB SD card

JNC GPS-743, GPS-580 and GPS-578 will support a maximum of a 2GB SD card
